May 4, 2008 | I’m still here, honest!! 0

Haven’t really been online much over the last few weeks, been busy with any number of things!

Big news this week - GTA 4 was eventually released on Tuesday, I managed to get myself a copy yesterday and is fair to say I’m hooked on it! I’ve not owned a game from the franchise since the London add on pack for the original, all those many years ago! This game is absolutely immense, if you haven’t yet, buy it now!!!

Chelsea at home tomorrow, lets see if we can hand Man Utd the title and push ourselves towards an unlikely top half finish! Fingers crossed.

Apr 12, 2008 | Back Online - At Last 0

Well, I eventually got my router back from Linksys after a totally of nearly 2 months being without! I’m most gutted that when I signed back into xbox live it had screwed my account up slightly so I’ve lost some of the saved progress I had done. Anyways, I had noticed on IE6 (yes, I know it sucks but so does IE7 and I can’t view the works site on Firefox) sorry, getting carried away. On IE6 it doesnt render properly and the content doesnt flow correctly, so I’m going to have to start from scratch I think. We’ll just have to wait and see!! Hopefully I can wake this thing up from the dead too!! Adios.

Mar 13, 2008 | Quick Update - UPS Suck Ass!! 0

Just a quick update, I’ve been offline for about a month now because my router started playing up and couldnt get it sorted so the nice manufacturers are going to replace it! the only bloody thing is that it’s getting picked by UPS and they are shite. Ask them to turn up after 4pm and they wonder why no one is home at 2pm! clever shit really for a delivery company!! 4th time lucky maybe tomorrow, if not I’m gonna drive to Sedgefield and shove it up their arse, maybe then they can sort it out!!

Lets see if I can get it back before the end of April maybe??

Well I thought I would see what this gizmo does. Apparently an easy way to write to blogs is the promise. Well, I’m very impressed. The layout of my blog doesn’t pull across extremely well would there’s no problem the other way. (Scratch that, figured you can change the view and it pulls across perfectly!)

It installed with the new Live Messenger so have a look there if your interested.

Side Note: my xbox is coming home!!!!!!!!!! I’ve just checked on UPS and it left sedgefield this morning so I’m hoping for an afternoon delivery!! The first time in my life that I have been ill and not went to work!! :)

Jan 19, 2008 | A Bit of a Wash-out Celebration. 0

Well, Kevin Keegan’s return to St. James’ Park wasn’t what the Geordie-faithful had expected, but to be brutally honest, not that surprising. A 0-0 draw at home against Bolton was the first result of Keegan’s second stint on Tyneside. Lets hope things get a little better at least some point soon…

Jan 18, 2008 | Guess Who’s Back, Back Again…. 0

Keegan’s back, tell a friend! (I must apologise for so rubbishly ripping off eminem!)

It’s all over the news so you will all know about it anyways but in case - clicky here.

Tomorrow’s game against Bolton at St, James’ should be very eventful! I’ll update you all then!!

Jan 10, 2008 | Bye Bye Big Sam. 0

Well the next part of the saga that is Newcastle United’s existence took a dramatic (and not too surprising) twist. Sam Allardyce namely being sack by the board. Officially it is said the team parted company mutually. After 24 games in charge and winning just 8 of those and drawing 6, the Geordie faithful, and owner Ashley got bored and annoyed with Allardyce. The ex-manager may have not helped his cause after describing last week’s 0-0 draw away to Stoke as “A good Result”.

Now all the papers, media pundits and whoever will all start the ball rolling with quotes such as “the Newcastle fans need to stop living in the Keegan era, stop calling themselves a big club, stop expecting too much too soon, blah blah blah” and they will not be further from the proof. The real fans don’t expect us to be competing with the likes are Arsenal, Man Utd etc, we would like to be, but we aren’t. Those fans also do not still live in the Keegan era, we simply enjoy going to watch football be played, and do not enjoy watching football that’s purpose seems to be on getting draws against teams like Derby, Wigan etc (no disrespect intended). And those fans do expect a slight change in amount of wins, improved play etc etc.

Allardyce, IMO, was the wrong man for the job in the first place. He had apparently had had great success at Bolton so deserved the England job at least. I can’t however, see finishing in a European spot as success, it is an achievement yes, but a success? Far from it!

So looking to the future - who will be brought in? we can only wait and see. Who would I like? not Shearer (not proven, no experience, has a cushy job at the BBC, is most likely enjoying life at the moment. Not McLaren, Redknapp, Moyes et al, they are not the right men for the job, and in the latter two coach’s defence, they have got too good of a setup and relationship with the fans and board to want to leave and come here. I wouldn’t want them to regret it in 6 months time. I would like to see a proven manager like Houllier, ‘The Special One’ or Hitzfeld be brought in. But I feel the likely hood of that being non-existent.

My final word being this - we are still seeing the after math of the Fat Freddy era, we are still suffering for all his mistakes. let’s hope with yet another of his purchases leaving the club that we may get a little closer to a little stability at the club. we will simply have to wait and see I guess….

Dec 30, 2007 | Bringing 2007 to a close. 0

Seasons greetings to all, which-ever holiday you celebrate!

Well the New Year is upon us. 2007 has been quite a good year all in with some major downer’s to boot but the positives out the negatives 10 fold. However I will be glad to see the back of ‘07. Fingers crossed for a more stable ‘08 on the job front and life in general!

I hope everyone has been getting very drunk and is enjoying any time they’ve had off from work.

A day early but here’s to the New Year, lets hope it’s a good one.

Dec 14, 2007 | Well done lads (so far!). 0

Newcastle

A bit of applause is due directed towards Newcastle’s players after a few horrendous performances against Portsmouth and Blackburn they turn the fortunes of the club around in 180minutes.

An excellent display against league leaders Arsenal led to a well deserved 1-1 draw. Adebayor had put the Gunners ahead early in the game before Stephen Taylor but us level on the 60th minute with a scruffy goal that secured us the point.

3 days later we played what was to be a tough game against Birmingham City, now playing under new manager Alex McLeish. Birmingham took the lead after just 9 minutes however we didn’t really look like we’d get back into things. Then on 33mins Nicky Butt went off injured to be replaced by Mark Viduka. A formation switch around with Viduka going up front, Martins out on the right and Geremi pulling into the centre we looked like a much more balanced side. Effort paid off when Martins was brought down in the box and dually squeezed home the equalizer via the keeper and then post.

After the break we looked the most threatening but it took till the 91st minute for a fabulous Emre (on for Geremi 72mins) corner was met by Habib Baye at the near post to secure the three points and to send the toon army into euphoria.

Hopefully we’ll be able to carry on the mini-run tomorrow with a visit to Fulham followed by a visit of bottom-of-the-table Derby to St. James’ Park. We’ll need it with games against both Manchester clubs and Chelsea to follow after that.

Well done though lads. Keep up the good work.

Dec 1, 2007 | Same old Newcastle, Always playing shi**. 0

Sam

Well yet another miserable day for Newcastle United in the premiership. We fell to our 2nd successive defeat and we are without a win since October. It’s still to be seen when the corner will come where, hopefully, our season can be turned around! I still think we’re a young team, what with the current regime being together since August I think we’ll just have to wait and see what happens with this club. Let’s just hope no rash decisions are made to try and sort out our short-term problems because the long-term is what we really have to focus on.

Next up at St. James’….. Arsenal….
